Alesna

Alesna
Cerro Alesna - same angle just updated to April 2011. All restrictions still in effect. Approach info given here is spot on ... was able to get within about a mile of the peak (driving through two herds of inquisitive black herefords) until stopped by a gated closure. On the trip out I tried the FS road that takes off NE just outside the private land - didn't go anywhere & I'm not sure of the point, anyway, if the whole peak lies on private land. FYI: GoogleEarth pulled up for me a second Cerro Alesna - a nondescript hump well south of the Interstate. So, forewarned: apparently NM has two Alesnas!
