Route Climbed: From ADK's Adirondack LOJ Date Climbed: August 1, 2002  Sucess!

I found this trip much easier that I expected, The trail is so well maintained and worn compaired to the routes up so many of the other "46er" summits it's much easier than it 5100' height would seem. The view is expansive but we were chased off the summit after about 15 minutes by approching thunderstorms (close).

This and the side trip to Wright Peak took us about 6.5 hrs to complete. Very worthwhile summit. Made this trek with my 11 y/o son & 9 y/o daughter. As long as your in descent shape, it should pose no difficulties.

Route Climbed: From the Lodge, and from Marcy Dam Date Climbed: August 95, May 98, July 2000  Sucess!

i climbed it from the Lodge in August of 95 in the middle of a storm where the temps dipped below 40 degrees near the summit (the temp at the lodge was a nice balmy 70). in 98 i agian climbed it from the lodge, this time in nice, but very windy weather. in 2000 i climbed it in the middle of a gale with 50 mph winds and heavy rain.

Algonquin has great views, but i don't think the weather is ever nice on top.

Route Climbed: Van Hoevenberg Trail Date Climbed: June 1, 2001, Dec. 19, 2002  Sucess!

3.5 Hours to the summit was a good time due to the conditions of the trails. Still very sloppy and some ice in the shady sections. Excellent weather. One of many summits here. This is an excellent conditioning hike and for those of us in Eastern Canada easy to reach in one day.

Climbed in december as well in 2002. Excellent day had trail to ourselves
