All Decked Out, 5.8

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
All Decked Out, 5.8
  • All Decked Out- 3 Pitches- 5.8/
  • A sustained 70’ of 5.8 edging on solid varnish. Todd Goss’s “Rock Climbs of Southwest Utah” is out of date regarding “All Decked Out”. He labeled it R/X and “a lesson on how not to bolt a sport route”. Somebody, probably Todd, has bolted it straight up since, 9 bolts to anchor. Tiny roof mantle in between.

I've driven through Utah, but that was long before I started climbing. After looking at all of the pictures you've posted, I suspect a road trip to Utah and environs is in the future.

for sure look us up when you do that....outside of Canmore, Alberta which can't be beat for world class climbing/climbers, we could have chose to maintain our US residence anywhere and chose southern Utah. The diversity of the area from Red Rocks to Moab played a huge role in that decision. Would love to show off the place...truly magical, albeit damn hot during the summer...thus why we are back to Canada soon...cheers

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
