| Took the tram and climbed to the summit and back in a little under an hour and a half. Later in the day so it was not crowded at all. | |

| Walked the first day from the Kreuzeckbahn station up to the Kreuzeckhaus (3h) where we spent the night. Did a short tour in the afternoon to Hochalm-Osterfelderkopf-Kreuzeck. Day two left early and hiked Hochalm-Bergwachthütte-Schöngange klettersteig. Once at the sattel turned left to the Bernardeinkopf first, then turned towards Alpspitze. Went up the Alpspitzrücken east slope, down the other way back to the sattel, down the Schöngange again. Then walked down the Kreuzeckbahn again. Great climb, great views only some clouds and sunny weather only interrupted three times by a short thunderstorm. | |

| We were forced to stop for almost 1 hour in the tunnel half way up due to thunder and lightning - scary with the via Ferrata cables | |

| Hiking up all the way from Garmisch-Partnekirchen train station. Ascending via Schöngänge and Oberkar and descending via the ferrata. Great day. | |

| Had a one-day business travel layover in Munich... took the early train to Garmisch, managed to get on the right bus route and up the cable car, hiked the peak and back to Munich for late afternoon flight to Japan. Would love to get back here with more time on my hands... | |

| I can't believe I missed signing this climber's log. I started the hike from outside Garmisch and hustled my butt to the klettersteig on the north side as thunder bellowed only miles away. | |

| Cycled up to Osterfelderkopf from Garmisch-partenkirchen train station and ascended the north face ferrata to the top. Initially I inteded to descend the east slope but there where too many people so I decided to descend the ferrata as well. Great downhill from Osterfelderkopf back to Garmisch :) | |
