An eruption in Feb. of 1998....
An eruption in Feb. of 1998. This was our view while eating lunch on the balcony of a local restaurant. (Lunch was so-so, but the show was great.)
In adddition to the explosion at the summit, you can see dust rising from rockslides - actually lava flows - down the center and left of the cone. These flows are nearly constant, and at night you can see them glowing.
