Anayet Y Punta o Garmo  Sucess!

ROUTE: From Coral deras Mulas K23 on the A-136 between Sallent and the Portalet pass. Follow the GR11 to the Ibones d'Anayet (lakes). The ascent which includes a scrambling section graded IIº was straight forward. Before you reach the "wire" (the protective chain that aids over a sloping rock section) there are two options and we took the route to the left. We found there was a bit of a sloping scree scramble over loose terrain - but just a couple of moves.
The final canal was a bit grassy and slippery - and not much fun when you meet someone coming down. Quite busy at the top on that day - which is good because we got a shot of us both together for a change.
We came back down and did Punto O Garmo/Vértice de Anayet which - at 2,555m - is a simple slope from the col or Cuallo de Anayet.

From Canal Roya  Sucess!

We climbed Punta de las Negras and Vértice de Anayet descending across Porté and Chiniprés. We didn't climb Peak of Anayet because the storm fell around us.

Failed Winter Climb

Impossible climb from Canal Roya in winter with very hard conditions: rain, snowfall, strong wind... a lot of snow to walk. At 1800m we leave the mountain for another day.
Sad day with a lot of friends trying the climb. I wish return with they in another day with sun.

Route Climbed: Corral de Mulas Date Climbed: 20th august 2005

Very bad weather conditions with rain, wind and finally some of snow at 2400m (the first of the season). because it I don't climbed Anayet (very dangerous the wet rock) and I've climbed the less unknow Arroyeras (south side of Ibones de Anayet, joined to Vertice de Anayet for an interesting ridge).

The peak Arroyeras is according with the actual meditions the highest peak of the zone (2565m or 2573m in different maps vs 2559 of Vertice de Anayet), confirmed by me, but it's not so spectacullar like the nice peak of Anayet. Fog in the summit, no views.

A great mountain day. I had always thought of Anayet as an impossible peak, but it's not as difficult as that. No rookies should attempt it, but I would dare to say that most experienced climbers can do (and enjoy) it.

Route Climbed: Barranco de Culivillas, descent along La Glera de Anayet Date Climbed: Summer of 2000  Sucess!

I climbed Pico de Anayet with my young brother and 2 friends from Zaragoza. We started at Corral de las Mulas, where we parked. I remind the beautiful Ibones (lakes) de Anayet, the final sections of the climb and the nice meadows on the descent ( La Glera de Anayet). We met a friend of my friends from Zaragoza so he joined us in the ascent and descent. It was a nice and sunny day.

This nice mountain has the difficulty adapted to support the interest in the whole climb and has very interesting step-crossing. The views are magnificent on the Midi d'Ossau, Ip's circus (Collarada...), Panticosa... Also the ibones of the Anayet is an idyllic place that is worth visiting and to repeat.
