Did you find the ropes to be necessary? I've heard it's a pretty safe climb without them and I'd really like your opinion. Thank you!

On the normal route the ropes (SE ridge) might not be necessary, but you should bring it just in case.

We climbed the north face (AD+/D) - and here I would highly recommend bringing a rope.
