Aside from Multnomah Falls, this one of the busiest trail in the Gorge. Perfect for an hour or two of exercise, and good views along the way and from the summit. I've probably hiked this trail about thirty times for that very reason. It's a classic.
Plenty of bang for the buck. Waterfalls, cliff views of the gorge and plenty of wind. Hike this in the winter on a weekday if you want solitude.

Fun but crowded
This trail can get SUPER crowded on a nice day. It's much more fun on a cruddy or rainy day/ Less people. Even more fun with snow. From the top there are several connecting trails that can take you all the way to Larch Mountain, and back into Devils rest and the old Logging town of Palmer. I have never needed snowshoes, but I have seen people use them higher up near Devils rest. This one gets alot of use from me.
