Good photoof these rather shy animals. We see them often around here, but I have never yet been able to take a good photo of them.

It is merit of my colleague. He is an enthusiast of ornithology and being in the field he has often an opportunity to see other animals.

Your friend Jurekis a very brave person. We have a similiar species of wild boar in central Arizona, called Javalina. They try to charge and get irratated if you come too close. They often attack dogs, and come to people's gardens in the middle of the night. I have even seen them in cities! Thanks for posting! :)

Re: Your friend JurekLarry, your Javalina is very like in behaviour to our boars. In spring a female with young and through all the year some old males are especially dangerous. I think Jurek took this photo from some distance.

Wild PigsThese animals are important here since the name "Sudetes" might derive from the Celtic for "wild pig woodland" :)

Re: Wild PigsWell, there are many more options but there's the stone statue on Sleza Mountain, isn't there? ;) BTW The biggest wild boar (not of stone) I've ever seen at large trotted past me on the slopes of Sleza, years ago.
