on Cheget mountain. I felt so sorry for these dogs, so later when we went hiking I bought a sausage for dogs.

I remember someone living in a city a bit east of Poland talking about the city and its dogs – after the break-up of the Soviet Union, they said, the city was full of barking dogs, just kicked out of home; a few years later there was peace and quiet – the animals had been cooked.
