Antelope Isle Dream

Antelope Isle Dream
Frary Peak (6,596') and Utah's Great Salt Lake, seen from the north.

Never visit it during the month of May, unless you're prepared for a
"big gnat attack."

Named in 1845 by John Fremont and Kit Carson, Antelope Island and the Great Salt Lake attract numerous migrating and nesting birds.

The bison roundup, occurring the end of October, is one of the great fall
spectacles of northern Utah.

White beaches composed of oolitic sand, occurring naturally within the lake,
are made up of concentric layers of calcium carbonate (lime).

A 3.4 mile trail climbs 2,066' to Frary Peak, the island's highest point.

Starting early, you're liable to see Bighorn sheep among the brine flies.
