Hi Alex,

Nice photo that captures the feel of a winter mountain summit. The effect is somewhat marred (and is probably why you're getting low votes on most of your pictures) by having a big yellow (and incorrect) date printed on the bottom. May I suggest turning the date stamp off and putting the information in the caption instead?

Thanks for the comment Charles, I appreciate it. This picture was taken with a camera that belongs to my friend. When I asked him if it is possible to take off the date, and yes incorrect date at that, he did not know. I imagine this can be done on the camera. We will have to make sure we do next time for the bright yellow numbers are quite unappealing!

Alternatively, you could use Photoshop ;-)

But that is a huge pain!

This one is probably not THAT huge of a pain, as the date lies in only 2 somewhat flat colors. You could use the eyedropper tool to get a sample of the surrounding color and use that color to fill in the yellow. Adding slight highlights as continuations of shadows would keep it from looking excessively flat.

I checked out your profile and wanted to note that your "user photo" is awesome. What a beautiful sunset! It is great to now that other young people are getting out and enjoying the wilderness.

Thanks! It's from a camping (nonclimbing, sadly enough) trip in, of all places, southeastern Oklahoma. I agree, there don't seem to be enough of us that get out.
