Approach to the base of Epinephrine involves this short section of climbing: it's 4th class if the fixed rope is in place (which it was) and low to mid 5th w/o the fixed rope (photo was actually taken after we bailed off the route). Epinephrine starts ~100 yards further up the wash. This is NOT the way guidebooks incl. Supertopo recommend approaching. Sources recommend taking a left just before this point and climbing (4th class) out of the wash and then back down into the wash beyond this obstacle. However, if the fixed line is there, this seems faster... (May 22, 2005).
