Approaching Aspiring; French Ridge Track

To approach Mount Aspiring, one often cruises into Aspiring Hut, just a 2 hour walk from the car park. Then, takes a day to huff it up the French Ridge Track to the French Ridge Hut. It's from here that one might head up the Quarter Deck or something to get on the Bonar Glacier to go bivy or hit up the Colin Todd hut or whatever. Anyway.... so what's the French Ridge track like? well, take this photo, and do that about 100 times, maybe more. Add rain to make it cold & slick, because that's how it's probably going to be. Ja ja ja jaaaa.... Ok, seriously, to all the people that flew up in that hele, and took all the bunks in Collin Todd Hut, instead of taking a few days to get up there with your own grit & spit, – you are boring. Go get in shape and do it again the right way. I say it with a smile, I do.
