Voted 10/10 | Mark, the nearest higher mountains are approximately 20 miles to the NNW in Snowdonia. Snowdon tops these at 3,560 ft and is probably the closest significant summit to the Arans. | |

Hasn't voted | The answer to what is the highest mountain outside the Yr Wydfa Group is Aran Fawddwy 2nd highest and Cadair Idris is 3rd highest. Im not sure off the top of my head what is highest outside of the Snowdonia National Park,Plymlymon near to where i live is the highest in the Cambrians of Mid Wales at 755m,ill have to research more.Hope this answers your question.
