Thank you Don for producing the excellent map found on this web page. It led me up the user maintained “south face path” and back down to High Valley by the more westerly “normal route” (my assumption). The path did occasionally disappear and I twice went off-route for a little while. It was a great hike and I look forward to following all the other trails on your map!
Dosha the dog and I did the loop around High Valley starting with the unnamed western ridge and worked around to the northern approach to Archer via the Archer Falls viewpoint. We checked out several viewpoints and exited from the south. Lots of wildflowers, especially on the western ridge. Certainly a great area and not a long drive from town. Lots of brush to contend with via non southern approach routes...
What a great area to explore. We climbed from High Valley and The Wall (need to rock climb near here) to the Archer Falls viewpoint and then horseshoed around to the main Archer Mountain viewpoints. A great find and still more to discover. Didn't see a soul.
