Moose cow, Washington Creek, Isle Royale. We met the moose while kayaking up the creek and turning a corner. Both parties were surprised to see the other but exchanged greetings and moved on. She was protecting a calf (not shown).

...closeup. One of my biggest regrets upon returning from Isle Royale was that I didn't come back with any good moose shots. Forget about the 100 other photos I took, everybody back home wanted to see a moose! Nice shot.
