OverviewThe Basque Country (País Vasco) is actually a region of north of Spain with three provinces calleds Guipuzcoa, Vizcaya and Alava but historically the region was greater, especially in the most glorious epoch of the old kingdom of Navarra, and for this reason is frequent to see many books and maps about the Basque Mountains with the other four provinces with historical relation: Lapurdi, Basse Navarre, Zuberoa and Navarra.
In order to avoid political conflicts that do not seem acceptable in summitpost, I will mention in this page only the mountains of the three main provinces (those forming the autonomous community of Euskadi). Anyway, three of the other four provinces are entirely included in the Pyrenees (Lapurdi, Basse Navarre and Zuberoa) and the highest and most important peaks of Navarra are as well in Pyrenees. As an introduction to the mountains of those four provinces you should consult the following areas: Bidasoa-Baztan, Roncesvalles-Irati and Belagua-Echo.
The official languages in the region are Euskera (or basque language) and Spanish (castellano) and for this reason many places and mountains have 2 names in the maps.
In this moment San Donato, a beautiful peak in the Sierra de Andia, it's the only peak of Navarra out of ranges of Pyrenees and Aralar with page in SP.Vizcaya / Bizkaia
