Overview

The Belknap Range is located on the south shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. The high point of the range is Belknap Mountain.

The Belknap County Sportsmens Association offers a hiking patch for reaching 12 peaks in the range (Mt. Rowe, Gunstock Mountain, Belknap Mountain, Piper Mountain, Whiteface Mountain, Mt. Klem, Rand Mountain, Mt. Mack, Mt. Anna, West Quarry Mountain, Straightback Mountain, and Mt. Major).

Getting There

There are numerous trailheads and parking areas serving the Belknap Range, including the Mt. Major parking area off Route 11, the Gunstock Recreation Area parking lots, and the parking areas along the Belknap Mountain Carriage Road.

Camping

Much of the Belknap Range is located on private property, so there is no camping without permission.
