Great day hike from Louden Lake  Sucess!

Our party of 5 humans, 2 goats, and a dog hiked in to Louden Lake from the Irongate Trailhead. After setting up camp and dinner, we picked a gentle slope up and easily gained the summit. Being late June, there were still a few snowfields but we were able to skirt them and avoid most of the marshy areas.

From the summit, look for the border marker and gain that too. It's pretty wild to see the cut in the forest stretch to the horizon in both directions.

Where is the high point?  Sucess!

With Tom S Stephen W and my two boys. Border jumping is fun. True summit not very clear and owner of this page seems to fail to discuss it... but it seems to be just north of the Western boundary marker well onto the Canadian side. Anyone else know about this?

Armstrong & Arnold  Sucess!

Backpacked in from the Iron Gate trailhead. Road in very rough condition - high clearance required. Hiked up to Armstrong, then Arnold the following day. Spectacular views of distant peaks and the beautiful Horseshoe Basin!!

July summit  Sucess!

Came in via Windy Peak (also climbed) and made camp near Horseshoe pass. Strolled up Armstrong in the evening and got a few pics by the monument. Snow free, no routes, but easy to find your way up. Very cool summit area, just immense, and great views of the basin.
