| backpacked into Horseshoe Basin and spend a couple days trying to get away from the mosquitos. a beautiful area unlike anywhere i have seen in Washington. | |

| Came in via Windy Peak (also climbed) and made camp near Horseshoe pass. Strolled up Armstrong in the evening and got a few pics by the monument. Snow free, no routes, but easy to find your way up. Very cool summit area, just immense, and great views of the basin. | |

| hiked up from iron gate trailhead. nice views from summit and hike, and it was interesting to walk through the burn zone so recently after the fire. | |
