Arrow Lake and Bench Canyon

Tiny Arrow Lake in the center of the photo would be a good camping spot for those hiking in the vicinity of Peak 8,587. This is the head of Bench Canyon. A trail goes up this canyon and eventually ties in with the flat basalt ridge north of the summit. This could be a route or one could strike off the trail near Arrow Lake and scramble directly up the the ridge. August 2008
