As Glacier Burns...
A view from the summit of Great Northern Mountain, looking west. The peaks on the right are in southern Glacier National Park near West Glacier. The clouds are smoke from the fires of 2003 that burned great sections of the park and shut down much of it for several weeks.

Flathead Range, MT-- July 2003

Hmmm...we might be passing by that spot in two days!

Polecat: 1: any of several carnivorous mammals (as of the genera Mustela or Vormela) of the weasel family; especially : a brown to black European mammal (M. putorius) from which the domesticated ferret is derived
2: skunk

My dirty mind had me thinking it was slang having to do with cathouses!
