Auge Gottes

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Auge Gottes
the smallest but probably the most famous of the Venediger Group lakes is "Auge Gottes" (= God's eye) at the south eastern moraine of Schlatenkees glacier. A triangle built by the slope and the moraine from app. the year 1650, and within a round island of cotton grass. With Grossvenediger in the background this is one of the finest places of Venediger Group. The Venediger Hoehenweg trail from Innergschloess to Badener hut passes this unique spot. (August 1985) - btw - google earth has a high resolution picture here, so clicking on the coordinates is worth it!
