Avalanche debris in Upper Angara Range, Transbaikalia
This is a more remote part of the range, up the Northern tributaries of Left Fork Mama River. Note the snaking avy cords!

The vegetation uprooted by the slab avalanch is the infamous Siberian creeping cedar, which, together with river-ice taryns (naled ice) and sugary recrystallized snow, makes up the unholity trinity of Eastern Siberian ski expedition challenges.

March 1986.
