A friend and I hiked up to Snow Lake with our families and then we left them there as we went up to climb. Gets steep in the woods...glad it was dry. Watched guy get rescued from just below The Tooth. For a Broken arm!!!! Found register placed in 2002, no entries since 2008. Kinda hard to see so I think it gets missed. Totally soaked register. Put it inside a register I brought up so now it is a canister in a cansiter.
Also, lost a 2-way radio near the summit....incase you find it and were curious. Trip report with map here http://www.willhiteweb.com/washington/snow_lake_trail/avalanche_mountain_137.htm
Tired of September sucking we went for it anyways. We broke off the Snow Lake trail just below the pass and started side-hilling. It was easy enough, just soaking wet. This area has blueberries in abundance. Per others advice we avoided the lowest spot on the ridge, reaching it a bit to the north. Some of the rock was awful slick. Just a few minutes on the summit and down. I got to use duct tape to secure a bandage on EK's elbow.
This peak landed me a visit to the hospital Date Climbed: Sep 19, 2010
On the way down I got a nasty gash on the elbow that when an inch deep after falling on wet heather that sent my elbow into a branch. Branch particles were still in my wound when I was in the hospital.
