Traversed Avalanche, continued to Hoyt
This is a straightforward walk-up, with the steepest part right after the trailhead. There are trails that allow you to continue to the saddle between Avalanche and Hoyt, and do what you will. (I continued to Hoyt, which I recommend.)

Spectacular view
Eighty five minutes up following a pair of ladies who drove a truck to the TH with Arkansas plates. Excellent trail and the view over the lake was easily the best in the park from what I experienced. Nice rock cairns on top too.

Avalanche Peak
Did this one on my drive day back home after a long week of peakbagging in Montana and Wyoming. I had done Windy Peak earlier in the day but still had plenty of time to do this one on my drive though Yellowstone NP. Great hike on a very nice trail.

Great View as always
Hiked many times since 1986. In July I take my spotting scope to the top and look over the basins to the north, west and east. I have seen several grizzlies in the basins in the middle of the day.

Forecast was cloudy with a chance of meditation in the woodsTurned it into a lollipop loop coming down the saddle to the east of the summit which turned out to be an excellent move.
