Babbitt Peak is located in northeastern California near the Nevada border. Reno is only about 15 air miles to the east. There is a manned fire lookout on the summit and the day I was there the guy wasn't sociable. Apparently, he likes his solitude. This is a drive up on a good gravel road and you can park close to the lookout. Nice views to the north, east, and west.
