Babel Tower

Babel Tower Linville Gorge Wilderness June 11, 2010 Getting to the summit involved a fun Class 2 scramble with some minor bushwhacking. For this route I stayed to the left of the Tower, heading that direction just after the junction of the Babel Tower Trail/Linville Gorge Trail. Do not take the hard left at the junction which will put you on the Linville Gorge Trail, but continue on the unmarked Babel Tower Trail until you have to start doing some routefinding. This is where you will need to start veering left. The route was not marked but became somewhat obvious. There apparently are multiple route options that are Class 3 or higher. The routes are not marked, other than for some blue ribbons that are tied to some trees. We later discovered these ribbons on our descent.
