Excellent day for this hike! The weather was clear and cool. Summited in 1hr 30min and down in 1 hr. Didn't tighten my water bladder properly and spent the first 45mins with a wet bottom, nasty.

Vincent Gap to Mount Burnham then back to Baden-Powell. Beautiful day but a little windy. Cool on the peak. Great day hike. Saw two other groups (five folks total) all day plus a Pacfic Crest Trail volunteer on his horse. He had his burro, trusty dog and a chain saw. No more tree falls across the trail!

tagged this neat summit on my PCT thru-hike. Great views. Brilliant climb on nicely graded trail.

Another great day for the hike, although a bit on the warm side. Temperatures in the low 80s on the ridge and summit, much warmer than that going down in the afternoon. Will probably try again in mid-October if it's cooled down and the roads haven't been closed for fire season.

Perfect day for a hike -- 90 minutes to the top (shorter than my drive to the trail head) Decided to hike Throop as well.

Beautiful day for the hike. Temperatures in the low 70s in the morning. Several fairly large snow patches covering the trail above about 8500 feet (see photo "Snow_on_Trail") .3 hours up, but only because we took it real slow. Only 1-1/2 hours down!

My eighth time to the summit, I did it with my dog this time (it was her third time here). The peak was more crowded than I've ever seen it before. There were about 45-50 other people along the trail and three more dogs. We had the summit to ourselves for about a half hour, though. When we headed back down, we took a side trip to Charles Tom Vincent's old cabin before heading home.

Started at about two- thirty, reached summit at about five. Camped out a little ways down the south ridge from the summit( Shhh. I don't think you're supposed to camp there!) Nice hike with great views all around.

Went with three others, Vincent Gap to summit using axe, crampons needed towards summit, not too icy.

Beautiful, freezing cold day.

Route Climbed: Vincents Gap straight up Date Climbed: 12/97  Sucess!

A postholing adventure in two to four feet all the way up, lots a wind once on ridgline, hunkered down under a limber pine while my group caught up. One of my favorite hikes.

Did this route both times in snow. The second time I used my brain and used my crampons and ice axe. Very fun moderate hike.

Just about a gazillion switchbacks! The summit was crowded, but the view is stupendous. The subalpine environment is almost magical, with its ancient crumholz and smooth sandy slopes.

From the summit, it looks like you're spitting distance from Baldy. Can also see Gorgonio & Jacinto in the far off distance - and on a relatively clear day, Downtown Los Angeles.

Tagged Throop Peak and Mt. Burnham on the way to Baden-Powell. Saw one of the strangest things I have ever seen on a trail anywhere - a group of eight nuns in full dress! Then I got buzzed on the summit by a glider. Cool day.

Route Climbed: From Vincent's Gap Date Climbed: July 2004  Sucess!

Originally intended to go to Williamson Rock but there were too many people and it was too hot. Ended up leaving the VG parking lot at quarter to one, hiked up with cool breezes and lots of shade, had a leisurely snack at the top, and made it back to the car in about 4 hours. Great views cuz of the clear day. Way better than going to Willy! Thanks for taking me, Rob!
