From Bald Mountain parking lot, after Umunhum
No way was I going to hike Mt Umunhum then just get in my rental car and turn back downhill. SOooo glad I added Bald Mountain on. I really enjoyed this wide-open summit. I just sat up there for a while in the sunshine and let the wind blow back my hair. Loved it up here, so peaceful!

Halloween Candy
Needed to use up leftover halloween candy, what a perfect trailfood peanut M&Ms are. Parked at Bald Mtn lookout, hiked Bald and then over to Sombroso via Barlow and Woods Roads.

Standard Route
I have fallen in love with this neck of the woods of our beautiful Bay Area. Enjoyed the drive along Hicks Road, then turned right onto Mt. Umunhum Road and up to the brand spankin' new parking area. While it's a stroll out to the high point, I enjoyed seeing that the Corps of Engineers had been there and wondered what the view of the world below would be at night as the previous post mentioned.

first quadriplegic ascent :)
Nice little stroll with Lisa on the easy trail from Mt. Umunhum Rd. Before my spinal cord injury I usually hiked up this from the Woods trailhead off Hicks Rd. Good training hike.
A couple of pics of me with the halo & forearm crutch are here. Also aided by AFO (ankle-foot orthosis), aka rigid brace on left leg.
One day soon I'll be back without the halo, brace, or crutch ...
