Baldy bowl slab avalanche
The right hand side of a large slab avalanche that occurred in the Baldy Bowl in February 2005, during or soon after a heavy snow storm (the left hand side can be seen here. The slope angle in the neighborhood of the obvious crown line is about 35 degrees. The crown was about a foot high. This photo was taken close to 1,000 feet below the crown. Believe it or not, the slide continued down into the canyon at lower left, as can be seen here.
