| I climbed Baldy in early August 2004 as part of a Arkansas Philmont contingent. We spent a week at the Scout ranch backpacking. Fairly easy climb, pushed it in about an hour from the base. Excellent view of surrounding areas, including Angel Fire resort. Certainly sparked my intrest in mountaineering. Highly reccomend the Philmont ranch, as well as Mt. Baldy. | ||

| When I was a teenager, our Philmont contingent from Connecticut hiked up on a cloudy day. The altitude sapped our strength, and we only spent 5 minutes in 30-MPH winds to take a few snapshots and get the heck off of that rockpile. I've never come anywhere close to that altitude before or since. | ||

| Climbed this with my Boy Scout Philmont crew from Troop 1100 in Burke, Virginia. I remember it being a beautiful view from on top and then a lot of fun on the scree field on the backside. There was even some remnant snow for a snowball fight! | ||

| i was crew leader for trek # 729C2. We started at about 6am and made the summit easily. on the way up four f-18 jets went through the canyon below us. My crew was divided between the slow hikers and the fast climbers and when we got to the top two boys tried to push each other off the mountain. The desent was simple, on the left side of the wide trail down there is deep shale that alows you to walk quickly down the mountain. This peak is not the most spectacular i've done but it is definately worth the day hike if you have the chance while on a philmont trek. | ||

| I climbed as part of a philmont crew 728I12 in early august of 02. we were going to take a night hike to see the sunrise, but my dad came down with severe mountain sickness and was sent to base camp so we didnt set out until around 5am. we were delayed again at baldytown because another crew member came down with mountain sickness, but other than that, we all made it. there had been a hailstorm the day before so that made things a little more difficult. had the time of my life though and i would love to go back someday. | ||

| Made ascent twice during visits to Philmont, first with Troop 97 from Ft. Worth,TX and secondly with my OA Lodge. Definitely one of the scrambles one has to do at Philmont. Not been back since then. | ||

| I climbed with a provisional crew from all over the US. We woke up at about 1:00 am to make the summit by sunrise. We climbed all night in a drizzle. Made it to the top an watched the clouds clear and sun come up. Great time. I was a member of Troop 884 of Whittier Ca. The troop sent me with a few other boys. Lyle - Dave and Stan. Thanks for the memories. I will dig out the picture so I can post it. | ||

| Philmont Rayado Trek 717-RM3 We started from French Henry and when we got to the meadow at Copper Park, we decided to skip the trail and just 'shwack up the east face. This proved to be much quicker; we beat the other crew who took the Copper Park trail by two hours! We took the south ridge down into Baldy Town and stayed at Head of Dean for the night. | ||
