Voted 10/10 | Looks great in B&W! I know
you are busy for going to the
mountains, but I have a
question regarding the High
Tatra on the Polish side.
When you are climbing or
skiing, do you ever see the
entrances to caves? I know
there are many caves (5,350)
in Slovakia, but how about
on the Polish side?? - Larry

Hasn't voted | There are about 782 known caves in Polish Tatras(this number still changes). The total lenght of these caves exeed 125 km. The deepest and the longest cave is Wielka Sniezna Cave (vertical extend: 824 m, lenght: more than 23 km). Most of them are placed near Koscieliska Valley,Mietusia Valley,Mala Laka Valley,Czerwone Wierchy ridge(north part).Only few of them can be visited by tourists, for example Mylna cave,Mrozna,Smocza Jama,Raptawicka cave,Oblazkowa Jama,Dziura. My climbing friend Natalia is cave alpinist,so she can enter in all of them. She really loves caves,so you know, sometimes it is hard for me to take her outside over the clouds;)) | | Posted Apr 25, 2008 2:39 pm |
