I went up Üssers Barrhorn (3610 m) in absolutely superb weather from the Turtmann hut, starting at 6:15 in the morning and arriving at the summit at 10:30 in the morning. Conditions could not possibly have been better; there wasn’t even any snow that had to be crossed (and that in mid-July! Normally you‘d have to wait until beginning of August for the 3000er to get into condition!), and the view to all sides was fabulous! I went down the same way, without passing by Schöllihorn or Schöllijoch.

Intersting hike from Topali
It was a nice interesting walk from the Topalihutte, with a fair bit of lying snow. Enjoyable to mix walking on paths, the easy glacier and the ladders/rungs up to join the main path. Great views all around, especially for the Berner Oberland in a single view. Moving pretty quickly it was just over two hours from Topali, then an hour to Schollihorn via Inners Barrhorn.

2 summits in one day
I planned this weekend with a big group of 11 friends! We had the perfect and hottest weekend in hand. After spending a night at the Turtmannhütte, we successfully summited both the Barrhorns next morning but missed out on Schölihorn due to lack of time and long way back home ahead of us on the same day. Perfect weekend out with friends!
Side trip while going from the Topali to the Turtmann hut
From the Söllijoch, first I hiked to the Üssers, then on the way back to the Inners Barrhorn. The scree on the Üssers wasn't too bad going up.

Üssers Barrhorn in a dayNice hike to a high summit. We started at the parking at the end of the Turtmantal and reached the summit 3 hours later.
