Bartlett Summit Block

[ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Bartlett Summit Block
This is the view of Bartlett's true summit tower as seen from a false summit to the north. The true summit is only a foot or two taller. We climbed the false northern summit first, and could determine through line of sight that the southern tower was indeed taller. The actual high point is a razor thin fin that is to the right side in this photo. This is a loose, exposed and dangerous mountain. The heavy mining has left this summit a crumbling 4th class mess. Image taken November 4, 2007. In looking at some pictures from a trip report from June 2006, part of this mountain has fallen even since that report. It would be interesting to see what is left in a few years!
