The conglomerate ridges on Bearfort Mountain were treacherously slippery yesterday, in humid, high-40F's conditions. The rock appeared dry, but all 4 in our party had trouble with traction in standard boots, even with hiking poles. The glassy surface of the conglomerate hides its hazard in this regard. Take footing precautions!
