Beaver Falls Overview

Beaver Falls Overview

An overview of Beaver Falls. The travertine terraces are created as a result of the precipitation of calcium carbonate in Havasu Creek, creating the lovely blue pools.

Re: The Colours

I haven't been all the way to Beaver falls, but the water in the Havasu creek really is that blue green color, due to the high mineral content.

Re: The Colours

As I said, I've never hiked all the way to Beaver Falls, but when I was in Havasu Canyon, the walls struck as pretty red (or orangy) depending on the time of day and lighting conditions . . .

Howdy Ejnar...

You need to make a trip out to canyon country! You would enjoy it, lots of orange and red rock.

Hidden Oasis in the Desert

No wonder the Havasupai have lived in Havasu Canyon for over 1,000 years. I wouldn't leave if my neighborhood was that spectacular. I have to return..........soon. *voting a 10 and giving you a gold star too* Thank you for posting.
