I think I got to the top. Clouds moved in, it started snowing, and rather than continue along the ridge, I retraced my steps back to beaver meadows. Great trip-- my first hike in RMNP.
From Upper Beaver Meadows Date Climbed: May 31, 2003
It was a heavy snow year because there was a significant amount of snow higher up on the mountain. The mountain is actually a highpoint on a ridge branching out from Trail Ridge Road.
This is an infrequently visited summit, so if you want to avoid the crowds in The Park this might be the summit for you.
Total ascents = 3 ... twice from the Windy Gulch Trail via the south slopes, and once from Trail Ridge Road via Tombstone Ridge on the way to Upper Beaver Meadows.
