Beech Life in Romania
All is fair in love and war: Rosalia longicorn (Rosalia alpina) - one of the Carpathians' finest beetles, which inhabits beech woodland and wears camouflage colours.

According to Encyclopaedia Britannica, in 2007, ten primeval beech forests in the Carpathians were designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This photo was taken in the Capatinii Mountains, Southern Carpathians, Romania.

You can see a better SP photo of a (Hungarian) Rosalia

I have to congratulate to you for this unique photo of this very rare longicorn beetle. I have been searching for him in virgin beech forests for many years, but was not lucky to encounter this Carpathian icon....Do you remember the time of taking this photo?
