A dawn scene on the way out of Zion Canyon as I headed off to climb South Ariel Peak.

Looks more dramatic enlarged.

I'm trying. After finally switching to the digital world, I'm enjoying its advantages. That DSLR is heavy and bulky, though, so I usually take a Canon Powershot when hiking and climbing. It runs on AA batteries, which I like, is more compact, and is almost as good as an SLR with its features. Best thing: the macro feature produces shots as good as the real macro lens I have, whereas I've always found the macro feature on an SLR to be useless.
