Before it became part of a wilderness area, the Mount Eva summit served as a site for some telecommunications facilities, including a tall tower. The tower has toppled and lies in ruins just 100 yards from the summit.. The accompanying steel building still serves as a reference point for hikers in the wilderness, as if one were needed.
