Beinn Laoigh (Ben Lui)

Beinn Laoigh (Ben Lui)

Beinn Laoigh (Ben Lui) from Cononish. This mountain is located in Tyndrum, in the Southern Highlands. Described as the 'Queen of the Scottish Mountains' she stands at a height of 1130m/3707ft. A long walk in from Dalrigh or Tyndrum, following the River Cononish provides the more pleasing of the two possible approach routes.

Northern highs

look like central european 2000 or 3000 metres high mountsins. Wonderful! I would like to visit the land of Adam Smith. Cheers Tomas :)

Re: Northern highs

Yes, there is a certain presence about some peaks in Scotland. They give the illusion of being higher than they are. This a beauty of hill and the only one that has ever defeated me. Found plane wreckage instead of summiting! Thanks for the vote Tomas.

A Mighty Munro:

Ben Lui is a mighty Munro.
Stephen you have taken the most well known shot of this fine summit with a moody feeling in the picture.

Re: A Mighty Munro:

Thanks David. From Cononish in the east is definitely the best viewpoint of her. One of the finest approach walks in Scotland.

Re: A Mighty Munro:

I would highly recommend, even though I failed to summit on my attempt Sept 06. One I will return to soon.

Re: A Mighty Munro:

You should never use the term Failed...!
No matter what you did that day you still made something out of it and you can as you say always try again.

Nice view

I did this mountain from the Sleeper, in very similar snow cover. An absolute classic mountain. Loved It!
