Belay Device?

What is the name of the belay device you're using? I've never seen one like it. It sort of looks like a figure eight, but you're using it with a biner.

The name is GiGi. If you are leading the climb, it allows to belay up to two people at the same time.

It's also called a Magic Plate. Works great by the way.

Thanks!

Now that I know what they are called, I can read about how they work. Are GiGis used more frequently in Europe than in the US? Most people I know use the Petzl Reverso if they want to belay two climbers at once.

I don't know. I used only the GiGi and it works very well in alpine climbing.
