| 10/21/2012 Approached via the West Ridge from Bells Canyon. Great views from the Summit of Lone Peak, North Thunder Mountain and Thunder Bowl. Had thoughts of dropping down into Thunder Bowl and climbing North Thunder Mountain, but didn't realize there wasn't a viable approach without backtracking a good portion of the way back to Upper Bells Res. I will have to save N. Thunder for later on. Great day in the Wasatch. | ||

| Headed up Bell's Canyon to get any of the peaks I haven't yet visited: Bell's Cleaver, Rocky Mouth Canyon Peak, and Bighorn/Upper Bells Peak. Ended up getting just the Cleaver due to time constraint and poor conditioning but it was still a great hike and a beautiful day. | ||

| byates let a great hike. We were planning on climbing North and South Thunder, but the snow was horrible, not consolidated, and faceted. Decided to bail on the Thunder Traverse and climb this peak | ||

| 6/19/2007 With Moogie737, Brent, Lana, Kim, and Anne. Also did North Thunder. Traversed along the south of Bells Cleaver and got back to the dam. 8/7/2006 With lesdoubois. Also did North Thunder. Bushwhacked down Thunder Bowl. 9/17/2005 As below. 8-23-2003 With Joyce. Up west ridge, down south ramp, and all the way around the lake. 7-29-2000 With MM. Went up the west ridge and down a chute on the south side and then over to North Thunder. Bushwhacked down Thunder Bowl (not recommended). 7-17-1999 With MM. Up Bells Canyon, all the way around the lake, and then to the saddle overlooking thunder bowl. We were hoping to climb the east southeast ridge, but that didn't look possible by the likes of us so we went up the third chute west of the saddle and that worked great. We were planning to do North Thunder too, but it took us so long to get up this one that we had to save North Thunder for another day. | ||

| Climbed the west side with Walt Haas and Robert Ging, class 3 on the up, lost a bit of the route on the way down adding a few class four moves but the chicken heads were plentiful. | ||

| Brought snowshoes, but didn't use them. Man that ridge is long, I kept expecting to be on near the peak only to have to hop more boulders, the conditions were great for glissading when I went down though, not to icy not to slushy, made it to the reservoir in seriously like 5 minutes. Overall a litle over 6 hours there and back. | ||

| Today (6-19-07) was my 2nd time at the summit of this underrated peak. We crossed a boulder field below the upper reservoir dam, then found our way up to the summit ridge. It took us 4 hours from the Bells Canyon TH on Wasatch Blvd. From there we scrambled down to the saddle and went on over to climb North Thunder Mountain. That, my friends, makes for a hearty day's exercise. #3 on 9-25-08 with Brent. Tried the west face again, made it, but decided we liked the ascending contour on the south side better, the route from the dam at the upper reservoir. #4 Solo - wanted to knock this one off in "true" winter. Broke trail in 12" of new snow from the ladder bridge to the summit. Steep snow-strewn western slopes made for some interesting going and the long summit ridge with untracked snow seemed to never end: talk about false summits! | ||

| First visit to this summit. This is a nice peak; not as prominent as nearby peaks but with a very nice view. After more than a half-dozen trips up Bells Canyon, routefinding continues to be challenging, although I'm slowly getting it figured out. | ||
