Just a few snow crossings today  Sucess!

Started from North Fork Park. No moose, goat, or grouse sightings today. No need for crampons on these short snow crossings. The summit register notebooks are completely full. It needs new blank notebooks brought up.

North Ogden Divide  Sucess!

Great trip up from the North Ogden Divide with my wife, son, and James Hamilton. It's a shame dirt bikes are allowed up there as the trail is rutted and trashed in spots. Still some snow on the east face to make things fun. Saw a nice big goat up high. Great day!

Ben Lomond the hard way  Sucess!

I've been wanting to go up the front face of Ben Lomond for years. I, and some friends finally did it a couple weeks ago. We started at the trailhead at the bottom of the North Ogden Canyon, ran the trail to the main ravine on the face and went straight up. Nothing very difficult, lots and lots of bowling ball sized scree that was very loose. We had to be careful to not push any down on people below. There is a small rock scramble just before the summit, but nothing difficult. Usually we run the trail from the North Ogden Divide up to the summit. this was a nice change. Weather wise it was a perfect day, sunny, and cool. A bit of a breeze on top, but not bad at all. Time to climb was about three hours, total time was a bit over five. Here's my Strava of the route we did. http://www.strava.com/activities/216968403

Via N. Ogden Pass  Sucess!

7/18/14 - Hiked with my lovely wife. Most of the trail is scattered with small rocks which get old after 16 miles. :) She's not in a hurry to hike it again anytime soon. Still, a great day!

6/28/13 - First time from N. Ogden Pass. Had a good day. Met up with coworkers at the peak for photos.

North Ogden Divide  Sucess!

Climbed from the divide with my wife. We got a late start so we pushed hard reaching the summit in 3 hours and 13 minutes. Spent about 25 minutes on the summit, just enough time to eat a pb & j and take some pictures. Moderate temperatures and nice breeze kept things comfortable all day. Ran into a big gopher snake below the summit. Great day in the mountains!

via Cutler Basin trail  Sucess!

Lots of snow fields to cross which meant the descent was pretty fun with lots of glissades. The weather was great - 60's, sunny. The route is not too steep and has much more solitude than the Ogden Divide route. After resting for a bit on the summit, I went over to Willard and hiked that. Lots of mountain goats on Willard.

Two in One We are thrilled  Sucess!

Brent and I bagged this one along with Willard Peak via North Ogden Canyon. There's gotta be a shorter route. It was a beautiful hike with views to die for.

North Ogden Divide

With Jun32 and Jennilyn. We ran about 95% to the top of BL and then power hiked the final push. The sun was just coming out and the views were outstanding. We also ran over and tagged Willard as well and then went back the way we came. We saw 3 Mt. goats and 3 moose up close. What a fantastic route. Total time round trip was 4:30ish.

Gentle and Pleasant  Sucess!

I remember this one fondly and need to get back. A long gentle approach should be good in any season, and I think this would make a good back country ski. Pack a lunch and plenty of water and make an easy day of it.

Long Day  Sucess!

The hike took about 6 hours in each direction. Snow shoed most of the way, switched to crampons on the final summit push. Freezing temps and lots of lots of snow!
