Benchmark discovery
I had cleared the snow off of the benchmark and my grandson was then curious as to what a benchmark was and why they were put on the mountain.
He also noted that if you tried to remove the benchmark, you could be fined 250 dollars (1936 dollars at that). I asked him not to remove it as today the fine would equal about a million dollars (inflation of course).
It was his first Benchmark (and first lookout visited)
