| Augie Medina | Peak But No Bighorn ![]() Date Climbed: Nov 12, 2006 | |
| Did this peak after having done Cucamonga and Ontario. I took trails all the way. Started out at Icehouse Canyon trailhead. Those 3 peaks on the trails make for a 19 mile round trip. Nice workout. Only regret is not seeing any big horn. | ||

| Climbed up with Bruno, Chrissy, Eric, and Kathy. Fun, but the views weren't so great. | ||

| First tagged Cucamonga Peak then down to the Cucmonga saddle and followed the easterly ridgeline on up to the summit. Summit to summit took 75 minutes. Stopped and enjoyed the views and lunch. Then headed off to Ontario. | ||

| R Pollard | Part of a day hike via Icehouse Canyon ![]() Date Climbed: May 23, 2006 | |
| Zipped up Bighorn on the way back from Ontario. This way was much easier than coming up from Cucamonga. There is a nice trail along the ridge that branches off the trail to Ontario. | ||

| Luciano136 | Route Climbed: Via Icehouse canyon and saddle Date Climbed: February 4th 2006 ![]() | |
| A rather warm day. We used crampons past the saddle and trailblazed straight to the summit. The views weren't very good; kind of a hazy day. We came down the last part of icehouse canyon in the dark; a little annoying with all the rocks. | ||

| Great morning with nice snow. Saw a helicopter (Sheriff, fire, or rescue I coulden't tell) land on the bump on the ridge just before the summit slope for a few seconds and then took off. Other than that I didn't see anybody except a lone hiker coming up from Kelly Camp from a distance. Untill the way down that is. | ||

| Nice views of the inland empire, slightly better views of the Mojave desert than Ontario. It was a cold, windy day. While on the way up I had to wait while a large contingent of SAR folks wheeled a woman out on a litter. They had been up all night. They looked tired. Other than that, I didn't see anyone until I got back to Icehouse Saddle, where there was a large group of hikers. I think I passed 50 people on the way down. What a crowd! | ||

| Reached Icehouse Saddle at about 7 AM and went straight up the ridge running east from there. Returned via the Ontario Peak trail and went to Timber after that. Nice morning to be out! | ||

| Did this one as part of three peak day - Cucamonga, Bighorn, Timber via Ice house canyon. Great day, perfect weather. The cross country from the peak to Icehouse saddle wasn't my favorite, need to find a better route | ||

| I saw the same Bighorn sheep on the summit that jjcate saw. I am glad someone else saw it, because I didn't have a camera, and feared nobody would believe I saw a bighorn on Bighorn Peak. Number 7 of 10 peak saga comprising Baldy, Harwood, Thunder, Timber, Telegraph, Etiwanda, Cucamonga, Ontario, and Sugarloaf. | ||

| Bighorn Peak was the second of three peaks I bagged today. I went up Icehouse Canyon and then up to Cucamonga Peak. From the saddle between Cucamonga and Bighorn Peaks, I went up the ridgeline to Bighorn Peak. From there I picked up the trail across to Ontario Peak. Then back down to Icehouse Saddle and to my car. Great day. Bighorn Peak lived up to its name. I saw a beautiful bighorn sheep on the ridgeline. Read my full trip report on the Cucamonga Peak page. | ||

| I climbed up from the trail that crosses the Cucamonga-Bighorn saddle. The ridge is easy to climb with minimal barriers. I continued from the summit down the face to Icehouse Saddle. Nice hike-added some excitement to the area going off trail. | ||

| Having visited all the high spots in the Cucamonga Wilderness but one, Bighorn Peak, I decided it was time for a visit. Had a great day. Had to thrash through some brush on the north ridge. Came down the trail to the west, then down through Kelly's camp. A lot of campers there. Memorial Day weekend. Go figure. | ||
