| Took of from the trailhead at the end of road # 382 and start of trail #46 from the east side. Camped at the trailhead and took off at 4:00 AM. Went up the east ridge south of Lame Deer lake. Was a long hard car to car hike. The boulder hopping on this route starts as soon as you leave the trail. We figured about 16 miles round trip. Fantastic view from the summit. Been looking at this peak for a long time and finally did it. | |

| I left from the Circle Park trailhead and headed up the east ridge. Roundtrip took 9 hours. I would have done this as an overnight, but the weather report predicted thundershowers for the next few days. I left before sunrise and was rewarded with clear weather. As I lay on the couch at home resting a couple hours after my return, I watched a wall of water and lightening sweep over the mountains. A very satisfying day. | |
