| Dennis and I attempted this one the previous day after summiting the highpoint of the Nevada Jackson Mountains, but the mountain was blanketed in hail and the roads were a muddy mess. The next morning I hit the road nice and early, and didn't run into mud until 7200 feet. At this point I parked at the base of the mountain and hiked the last 1200 feet following the road. 10 minutes after reaching the summit a thunderstorm blew up over top preventing me from hiking on over to Trident Peak the second highest peak in this range. |
